• Joe Pug, Messenger – I love his Nation of Heat EP and so far I’m digging the new one.
• Clem Snide, The Meat of Life – I listened to last year’s Hungry Bird over and over and over again.  High hopes for this one…

Third, February is Write an Album Month.  I am less ambitious, shooting for 2010 to be write a song year.  At the pace I’ve been going, it feels like my deadline is a little tight.

Every December I think to myself “this is the year I’m going to write that Christmas song that becomes a perennial holiday hit and then I can live off the royalties for the rest of my life just like the guy in About a Boy.”  But I don’t think this December is the one.  Check back with me next year.

It only took me 12 years in the neighborhood to do it, but I finally played the open mic at the Hotel Utah last week.  They posted the performance online here.
