New Music

Long time, no post. This is more of a placeholder for me than anything else. I got this quarter’s Texas Music Magazine (the one with Willie on the cover) and it was chock full of some upcoming albums that look pretty interesting:
- Ghosts Along the Brazos: When It Rains It Pours – Modern western swing
- Mother Merey and the Black Dirt: Down to the River – Music inspired by Mississippi blues and Appalachian string bands fronted by a female voice.
- Steve Earle & the Dukes (& Duchesses): The Low Highway – I’m going to listen to anything Steve Earle puts out. It looks like he’s playing Amoeba Records in SF on the 17th.
- Patty Griffin: American Kid – Ok, so this one wasn’t in the magazine, but my sister pointed out that the release is imminent and the preview tracks are awesome. Yay!
Can’t wait!
Oh yeah – the Willie article take a peak at his entire catalog; prompting me to download some albums I hadn’t heard before. I’ve been listening to Willie all day!
